MEGA BLOOD DONATION DRIVE IN MAURITIUS
ON NEW YEAR’S DAY

The Sathya Sai International Organisation Mauritius (SSIOM) held its mega blood donation drive on the morning of Wednesday, 1st January 2020. 

Despite poor weather conditions following a cyclone in the country, the blood donation camp was a great success, with 457 pints of blood being collected

The Minister of Health and Wellness of the Government of Mauritius, the Honourable Dr Kailesh Kumar Singh Jagutpal, officiated at the event and even donated blood. 

The event was broadcast on national television during the evening news.

The New Year blood donation drive of the SSIOM is an annual event and is of great significance to the Ministry of Health given the shortage of blood, especially during the festive season.

The SSIOM stands first in blood collection in the country and contributes up to 12% of the total blood requirements of the island state.
