APRIL 24, A DAY OF MANY REVELATIONS

April 24, 2011, was the day Sathya Sai Baba transcended His physical form to be available to all beings as the indwelling inspiration, motivation, and force for a better world. The five human values He taught, namely truth, right conduct, peace, love, and nonviolence, represent the universal belief that love is the source and that it expresses itself in thought (truth), action (right conduct), feeling (peace), and understanding (nonviolence) to divinize all human experiences.

Sri Sathya Sai Aradhana Mahotsavam, April 24, is a day of heartfelt gratitude for His grace in revealing Himself as the resident of every heart. For people of all countries and faiths, April 24 is increasingly becoming associated with World Human Values Day, the day that humanity celebrates the unifying bond of the five human values, for a better world.

In 2003, the Sathya Sai School of Canada launched the very first Walk For Values in Toronto. What began as a local event has evolved into a national event in Canada, embracing numerous provinces and communities.

In the years since, more than 300 municipalities and multiple provinces – including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Newfoundland, and Labrador – proclaimed April 24 as Human Values Day.

In 2024 and 2025, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia together with 24 other municipalities, including major cities like Ottawa, Edmonton, Brampton, Saskatoon, and others have joined this movement. Even the iconic CN Tower in Toronto has recognized this day as Human Values Day.

This wave within Canada is just the beginning of a greater awakening to the power of values-based living and its role in shaping a more harmonious and compassionate world.

May all countries follow the example of Canada and make April 24 World Human Values Day.
