The Federal Senate of Brazil pays tribute to the Institute of Sathya Sai Education of Brazil

On August 26, 2022, at a Special Session in the nation’s capital, the Federal Senate of Brazil, the Upper House of the National Congress, honored the contribution of the Institute of Sathya Sai Education of Brazil for its tireless work over 22 years in developing values-based education in Brazil.

The first Sathya Sai School was established in Brazil in 1993. There are now three schools providing values-based education to underprivileged children in three different regions of Brazil. Food and other basic necessities are also provided to their families.

The principles of Sathya Sai Education in Human Values (SSEHV) program deeply inspired a businessman, now a senator, who visited Prasanthi Nilayam in 2003. Since then, he has for many years promoted the program, including establishing a school that fully adopts the SSEHV program, so that more schools across the country adopt this pedagogy.

The special ceremony at the Federal Senate was also attended by the Ambassador of India in Brazil, who spoke of his own family’s closeness to Sathya Sai Baba. The former Ecuadorian Minister of Education, a great admirer of the SSEHV program, sent a video message especially for this event.

An 8-minute moving tribute to honor the work of the ISSE of Brazil and the SSEHV program was performed by a storyteller, previously unknown to the ISSE of Brazil. After highlighting Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings on education and His emphasis on character building, Mrs. Nyedja Gennari, the storyteller, moved the audience with the supreme truth that man’s very nature comes from God.
