HElp Africa Relief (“HEAR”)

Dear Friends,

Food shortages in Africa reached a critically ominous state in 2020. The Covid-19 pandemic brought the continent’s economy and infrastructure to a halt and contributed to a major continent-wide catastrophe resulting in severe food shortages.

In a gargantuan effort, the countries of the Sri Sathya Sai International Organization (SSSIO) in Africa launched a massive humanitarian response to feed people in 12 countries – known as HElp Africa Relief ("HEAR").

The Sri Sathya Sai World Foundation (SSSWF) and the Prasanthi Council energized the entire SSSIO around the world to provide several 20-foot long containers of food, each with 20 tons of food that could feed about 1,300 families for one month.

This impressive programme complimented local efforts by SSSIO members in Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa to distribute food hampers to the needy. This effort still continues in mid-2021.
